John Lennard, SCA
John was born in Barrie, Ontario and studied art at the Ontario College of Art and the Art Students League of New York. He has exhibited his work internationally for many years and is represented in numerous collections in Canada and abroad. For over thirty years the Canadian landscape has been a constant inspiration for his oil paintings. The work reflects a direct response to nature and the environment and follows the seasons with a rich treatment, which evokes the remembered sensations of place and time. The bold colours and strong design emphasize light, shadow and pattern, which allows the viewer to enter nature with a sensitized eye.
John is a listed artist in the publications “A Dictionary of Canadian Artists” and “Artists in Canada”, and is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists.
