As you travel along the road to Cape Forchu in Yarmouth County, NS, you will pas many small farms, clusters of fishing sheds with gear, wharfs, fish tanks, and breakwaters. A wealth of material for artists who enjoy painting the Maritimes…as I do.

     This painting was inspired by what I saw at a small area at the end of a concrete breakwater, which was built to keep the ocean water from destroying the only road to the Yarmouth Light Station.

     This is an area that sees lots of water action and one can see how the rocks have been worn smooth having been pounded by forceful waves for uncounted millennia.
